Primo has launched a series of new ads featuring its 100% made in Canada ketchup. It says every bottle of Primo ketchup is packed in Canada, using Canadian tomatoes grown in the Leamington area.

Primo rolled out its tomato paste in direct competition with French’s ketchup, which is made of Leamington tomatoes that are processed in Ohio.

The ketchup war began, after Heinz closed its Ontario plant. That sparked a social media firestorm, with thousands of Canadians pledging to boycott it.
