Third person arrested in 2018 murder of Marko Bakir: Hamilton police

Hamilton police have charged a third person in connection with the 2018 homicide investigation into the death of Marko Bakir.

The arrest comes nearly six months after officers charged two people with first-degree murder in the same case.

Police have been investigating since Bakir was shot to death in his own driveway on Clifton Downs Rd. in Hamilton on Nov. 22, 2018.

On May 18, the Hamilton homicide unit arrested 28-year-old Alessandro Giammichele in Thunder Bay for the first-degree murder of Bakir. Giammichele of Hamilton was also known as “Gino” and “Sandro.”

Abdelaziz Ibrahim, 25, of Hamilton was also charged with the first-degree murder of Bakir.

The homicide unit announced today the arrest of Mark Buzzelli, 43, of Hamilton.

Buzzelli has been charged with accessory after the fact of murder.

The accused is scheduled to appear in court today.
