Hamilton police are investigating after someone stole roughly $6,000 worth of inventory from a local business.

Police say a man broke into a commercial property in the area of Nash Rd. North and Barton St. East around 6 a.m. on Oct. 16.

The thief stole several uniform jackets before fleeing the property on a bicycle.

Police have released two photos that show the suspect with a large cardboard box on the bike’s handlebars.

Investigators say the stolen items included black Gore-Tex RCMP canvass jackets with RCMP shoulder flashes and red Alberta parks jackets with green shoulder flashes.

The suspect is described as white, with a medium build and was wearing a dark coloured hooded sweatshirt with a white logo on the left side, blue jeans and black low-cut running shoes with white soles. He was riding an older bicycle with a rear bike rack.

Anyone with information about the identity of the suspect, or who has additional information that could help with the investigation is asked to contact Hamilton police.
