Shane MacGowan, the singer-songwriter and frontman of The Pogues, dies at the age of 65 on Thursday.

The singer’s family says he died peacefully with his family by his side. MacGowan is being remembered for the way he infused traditional Irish music with the energy and spirit of punk.
