Former owner of ”Ikea monkey” continues doing what she can to get him back.
Yasmin Nakhuda is hosting a fundraising dinner and is publishing a children’s book to help with the legal costs of her custody battle with a primate sanctuary.

She says nearly half of the 250 tickets for an April 6th fundraising dinner have been sold.

Darwin the monkey made headlines around the world last year when he was found frolicking in an Ikea parking lot in Toronto, sporting a faux-shearling coat.

Nakhuda’s suing the animal sanctuary where the Japanese macaque was sent after she turned him over to animal services.

She figures the custody battle’s cost close to $138,000 so far.
