The backlash continues for Oakville Mayor

There have been calls for the Mayor of Oakville to resign after he sent out a bad tweet.

Rob Burton wrote a tweet complaining about the Conservative leader’s private security team, comparing them to forces used by Hitler and Mussolini.

That security team is made up of Canadian Veterans and now, #ResignMayorBurton is trending on Twitter.

The Mayor’s remarks drew outrage from veterans and the Jewish community and Burton’s Twitter account now has an apology with the earlier tweets deleted.

Burton has no plans of resigning anytime soon.
