Teens identified in Jolley Cut mystery

The two teens whose bodies were found below the Hamilton mountain this weekend have been identified.

They are Irn Turner Mace and Alex McCormack. Both were only 16-years-old and students at Saltfleet District High School.

Friends of the teens believe it was a joint suicide, but Ontario’s Special Investigations Unit is not confirming speculation that the boys sent text messages to their friends before their bodies were found.

The SIU took over the investigation because an off-duty Hamilton police officer warned the boys about an hour before their bodies were discovered that they were in an unsafe area.

Grief counsellors have been called in for fellow students at Saltfleet District High School.
