Teens charged in series of robberies

Four teens have been arrested in a series of robberies in and around Halton Hills.
Halton Regional Police say officers were called to a robbery at a convenience store on Mountainview Rd. S. around 10 p.m. on Dec. 30.
According to police, four suspects flashed a gun, tied up the clerk and stole cigarettes, cash and candy before taking off in a stolen vehicle.
Three of the suspects were arrested shortly after, when police tracked down the stolen vehicle. The fourth suspect was arrested after a brief search.
Police seized a number of items, including a loaded handgun.
Since the initial arrest, police have linked the teens to two other convenience store robberies in Halton Hills, another in Durham and two others in Peel Region.
The teens are between 14 and 16 years old and are from Toronto and Brampton.
They face 56 charges so far, including robbery with a firearm, forcible confinement and breach of probation.
