Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is an action adventure film directed by Jonathan Liebesman (Wrath of the Titans) and produced by Michael Bay. Like most other TMNT films, the story follows four brothers – Leonardo, the courageous leader; Donatello, the intelligent scientist; Michelangelo, the jokester; and Raphael, the tough guy – as they try and save New York City from the evil Shredder and his Foot Clan henchmen. Taught ninjutsu from a young age by their rat sensei Splinter, the turtles rise from the sewers and, with the help of newswoman April O”Neil, fight the corruption spreading throughout the city. The film stars Megan Fox, Will Arnett, and William Fichtner in the human roles, with Johnny Knoxville as the voice of Leonardo and Tony Shalhoub voicing Splinter.
The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie franchise has had its ups and downs over the years. The first original trilogy of films in the series – Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III – featured groundbreaking puppetry effects by Jim Henson’s Creature shop and grossed over $256-million in the early 90’s. Then the series went dark until 2007 when the CGI film TMNT, based on the animated TV series airing at the time, was released to poor reviews and a modest box office return.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is rated PG.
