A 52-year-old Niagara Falls man is that city’s third homicide of the year.
Tony Paonessa, described by family as “the good guy”, died Friday in hospital as a result of injuries he sustained after being attacked at his home.
On Tuesday Police were called to the area of Huggins street and Gainsborough Avenue for reports of a serious assault. When they arrived they found Paonessa suffering from life threatening injuries.
A 17 year old male, who was his foster child, was located shortly after and initially charged with aggravated assault.
