Teen arrested using stolen licence plates

On February 15, just shortly after 8pm, Hamilton Police saw a vehicle in the area of Cannon St. E and Stirton St using licence plates that were reported stolen.

The car had spotted a police officer who was preparing to initiate a traffic stop and turned into a residential side street.

The officer, along with members of the ACTION Team began searching for the vehicle when the vehicle dangerously drove past them

The police continued to investigate which led him to an address on Wellington St. S. They located the male driver and arrested him without incident.

Charged is 19 year old, Jovonn Joseph of Hamilton. Charges include dangerous driving, possession of stolen property under $5000, fail to comply with reconizance and breach of probabation x 2.
