The opposition says the revised contract between public high school teachers and the province will cost at least $114 million.

Members of the Ontario Secondary School Teachers’ Federation voted 84% in favour of changes to the contract imposed in January under bill 115. Education Minister Liz Sandals says the agreement shows the government and the union have come a long way toward rebuilding their relationship. Among other things, the agreement gives teachers improved maternity leave and sick day benefits, as well as fewer unpaid days off.
