There’s labour peace between the province and at least one teachers’ union.

Secondary School teachers and the province reached a tentative agreement earlier today, which is a good sign that high school students should return to classes in September without any disruptions. But how does is affect the Elementary Schools?

The Elementary Teachers Union has been without a new contract for a year and Sam Hammond was cautiously optimistic after hearing about the Secondary School teachers deal.

Teachers are hoping to get a deal done as soon as possible.

The Catholic teachers association resumed negotiations today, but Public elementary teachers negotiations don’t resume until September 1st.
