Tanker truck rollover in Burlington

A tanker truck loaded with fuel has rolled over near the Burlington/Oakville border and has led to Harvester Road being shut down overnight.

The rollover happened at around 8:45pm. The 35,000 litre tanker was carrying 25,000 litres of diesel and 10,000 litres of gasoline. Emergency crews and the Ministry of the Environment are on scene as the substances are leaking into the sewers at a rate of around one litre per second. A large safety perimeter is also being set up and crews are standing by just in case. Harvester Road between Appleby Line and Burloak Drive will be closed until the clean up is finished.
