Ahead of the nicer weather, the Ontario Provincial Police are asking drivers who are in need of speed to take their vehicles to the track and not the roads.

The Toronto Motorsports Park in Cayuga is hosting an upcoming event, “taking it to the track, not the streets,” to allow drivers to speed as much as they want in a safe environment.

Sgt. Kerry Schmidt says there will be no cops at the track as there are no speed limits.

“We just want people to remember how important it is that we take it to the track,” he said.

Schmidt adds that they don’t want people in the streets to do this kind of driving, “14 people died this year in crashes that were speed related,” he said. “[Aggressive driving] is completely unacceptable.”

The event will showcase various luxurious sports and muscle vehicles and it will be running throughout the summer.
