SUV slams into house

A Six Nations family had a rude awakening early this morning when an SUV slammed into their house — shifting it off its foundation.

It happened just after 1 am at 1690 Fourth Line.  The family was immediately evacuated and Hydro One crews called to disconnect the power because the hydro metre had also moved — and there was a fuel leak.

Six Nations Firefighters set up a defensive perimeter in case the fuel caught fire, and guarded the scene until the vehicle was towed away around 4 am.

The woman driving the SUV was treated on scene by paramedics.

Six Nations Police are still investigating.
