Suspicious package found at Hamilton courier facility deemed safe

A suspicious package that prompted the evacuation of a local courier facility on Thursday has been deemed safe by Hamilton police.
Emergency crews were called to DHL Express on Airport Rd. West at 10:30 p.m. after staff discovered an item that appeared to be suspicious inside their shipments.
The building was evacuated as a safety measure and Hamilton Police Emergency Response as well as the K9 Unit were called in to investigate.
Investigators determined the item was an ‘air sampler’ and deemed it to be safe.
Police say staff was allowed back inside and the courier company returned to full operation.
John C. Munro International Airport is in close proximity to the building but was not affected by the incident.
