Suspicious package at Brock U

Niagara Police are investigating after a suspicious package was found at Brock University near the school’s pub.

Police say wires could be seen sticking out of the package, and a robot was deployed. They have since cleared the package, saying it was a backpack containing a homemade device. Police are unsure what the device is, but it will be investigated by detectives.

The package was discovered in Isaac’s, the campus pub, by a security guard around one this afternoon. The student alumni centre and plaza building have been evacuated.
