Suspended Hamilton driver caught travelling twice the speed limit

A Hamilton man has been charged and fined after being caught going more than twice the speed limit near the airport.

Officers say a red Lamborghini was seen speeding northbound on Miles Rd., south of Twenty Rd. Thursday afternoon.

The vehicle was clocked travelling 124 kilometres an hour in a 60 zone.

A 35-year-old Hamilton man was charged with speeding and stunt driving.

Police say he was prohibited from driving because of unpaid fines and also faces a driving while suspended charge.

The driver has been issued another seven-day licence suspension.

The vehicle has also been impounded for seven days.
