Suspended driver charged with fleeing crash scene in Hamilton

A 30-year-old man is facing several charges after he allegedly fled the scene of a collision in Hamilton.
Police allege the man rear-ended another driver near Barton St. East and Gage Ave. North shortly after 2 p.m. on Saturday.
After a conversation outside of their vehicles, both drivers decided to move off of the roadway to exchange information.
Police say the driver who caused the collision fled the scene. The other driver was able to gather enough information to provide a description to police.
The following day, a Hamilton man was arrested and charged with fail to remain and careless driving.
Police laid additional charges after they discovered the man had two current suspensions for driver’s license.
The man’s vehicle has been seized for seven days and he is scheduled to appear in court on June 27.
