After that long, cold and seemingly never-ending winter, it looks like the warmer temperatures are finally here to stay.

The bikes are out, and the heavy jackets are off. The sun is finally making an extended appearance, and that has people thinking again about ways to enjoy it.

“Nice to finally be able to sit outside and eat again,” said one beach goer in Hamilton today.

Some were eating a bite down by the water, while others were catching one.

Boats are getting ready to launch, and even the birds are sunning themselves on the dock down at Bay Front Park.

And from four-legged creatures to those on four wheels, paths and parks across the city are busy with all sorts of traffic.

“This is the first nice day we’ve been able to come outside. It’s great,” said a tennis instructor in Hamilton.

After all that activity, it’s time for a break. patio season is finally here, and with it comes the promise of big business for local restaurants and bars.

After months of seeming hibernation, a day like this was cause for celebration.
