Success with RIDE program

The OPP annual “RIDE” campaign pulled more than 1,000 impaired drivers off the roads this holiday season.

Police have now released stats on the program which ran from November 25th to January 1st.

More than half of the over 1,200 drivers removed from our roads were charged with impaired driving.

But despite police efforts, 47 people died in alcohol-related crashes on OPP patrolled roads last year.
