Study shows war on drugs failing

An international study shows the war on drugs isn’t working.

Researchers in B.C. and California have looked at 20 years of drug data from North America, Europe and Australia. They say while the number of drug seizures has increased, so has the potency and availability of drugs and prices have dropped dramatically. The report’s authors, including Vancouver’s Dr. Evan Wood, hope the study prompts authorities to re-examine drug-control strategies that focus on supply reduction over prevention and treatment.
