A province wide initiative will help 700 students who want to become young entrepreneurs. It’s called “Summer Company” and it provides students ages 15 to 29 business training, mentoring and a grant. $1500 up front to help with start-up costs and up to $1500 more when you successfully complete the program.

To apply, go online to ontario.ca/summercompany and fill out your business plan. Once that part is complete and if you’re from Hamilton, go to the small business enterprise centre at City Hall. There, you will meet with someone from the summer company program team for an interview.

The program has been running since 2001 and each year it continues to grow with a high success rate.

The final deadline to apply this year is Saturday May 19th.
