The Hamilton Conservation Authority says there is an increased risk of significant localized flooding and erosion along Hamilton’s shoreline.

Strong shore-bound winds are in the forecast Friday and Saturday.

Sustained winds up to 39 km/hr are expected, along with wind gusts of over 70 km/hr. That’s expected to result in wave heights of up to two metres.

People living along the shoreline are being urged to closely monitor the situation.

Residents should take extra precautions near lakefront areas.

The flood watch is in effect until Monday.
