The snow and freezing rain caused commuters a few headache Monday Morning.

Ontario Provincial Police reported close to 500 crashes on Ontario highways.

The Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board said all schools are closed because of Environment Canada’s freezing rain warning for the area.

Catholic schools and most Halton school are open Monday, but buses have been cancelled due to the weather. Four Halton schools in rural communities where all the students are all bussed are closed.

There were more than 160 cancelled flights at Pearson International Airport and some airlines have issued travel advisories.

Also, The Canadian Automobile Association says there was over 1000 calls for service.

Environment Canada has a special weather statement in effect and says a low pressure system developing over Colorado will bring some rainy but unseasonally warm weather to Southern Ontario over the next few days.
