Storm cleanup efforts begin in Millgrove

Residents in the small community of Millgrove have a big cleanup ahead of them.

Sunday’s storm caused a lot of damage after the wind whipped through the area, taking out trees and damaging several homes.

What may be most alarming is the fact some residents say it only lasted for 30 seconds, and ended in this mess.

Residents believe the devastation may have been caused by a tornado, but warning prepardness metereologist Peter Kimbell says “most of the damage was wind damage and it was not a tornado that we know of. Downburst winds can do a lot of damage, there’s no question.”

A few kilometers down the road, the homes are in tact, but some of the roads biggest trees were taken down.

Nobody was injured in the storm, but there is a giant clean-up ahead.
