Another home invasion involving a gun is the second this week in Hamilton. This time shots were fired, but no one was hit. It happened at an apartment above a plaza in Stoney Creek in the middle of the afternoon yesterday.

Today we spoke with Margaret Howard, the owner of a Barber Shop directly below who heard the whole thing. She was cutting hair in the shop when gunfire erupted just one floor above, luckily no one was hit by the bullets. There are three apartments on the second floor of the building on Main Street in Stoney Creek, in order to get in from the ground floor a key is needed. According to police the suspect waited for the victims mother to arrive home, they pulled a gun on her, covered her mouth and made her open the door so they could get inside.

Police say there was a physical altercation which is where the shots came from. The man with the gun demanded cash, but eventually just made off with some personal items from the people inside.

The man is described as white, is his 20’s, wearing a orange and yellow safety vest over his jacket. He made off in a silver SUV that was driven by a second man. The investigation continues and anyone with information is asked to call police or Crimestoppers.
