Stoney Creek man charged with murder in Toronto shooting

Toronto police have charged a Stoney Creek man with murder following a shooting earlier this month.

Officers responded to a large gathering on 1602 Eglinton Ave. West shortly before 4 a.m. on June 5 for reports of a shooting.

Police said a man was shot and seriously injured during an altercation with another man. The victim was taken to hospital where he died as a result of his injuries.

The victim was later identified as Michael Barnes, 54, of Toronto.

On June 14, officers arrested and charged 33-year-old Daniel Baugh of Stoney Creek with second degree murder.

Baugh was scheduled to appear in court on June 15.
