The City of Hamilton is advising drivers of a closure beginning at the intersection of Highway 8 and Dewitt Road on Tuesday.

Construction will begin to complete upgrades to the underground sewer system and the work needed to restore the roadway and surrounding curb once completed.

This first phase of construction is expected to last for around one month due to the size and depth of the new infrastructure that is being installed.

Once the first phase is complete, one lane in each direction will be reopened to allow for traffic to use the intersection while the final work is completed.

During the month of a full closure, drivers are asked to detour using Millen and Fruitland Roads.
