Stoney Creek house fire sends one person to hospital

A man in his sixties has been treated in hospital after a house fire in lower Stoney Creek.
Crews were called to a home on Faircourt Dr. around 7:45 p.m. Tuesday.
Firefighters arrived to find a working fire inside the one-storey house. It took roughly an hour to knock down the blaze.
The main body of the fire at 5 Faircourt has been extinguished. Crews will be at the scene for an extended period of time conducting overhaul operations

Officials say a man in his sixties was the only person inside the home at the time of the fire. He was transported to hospital for smoke inhalation but is expected to be okay.
Hamilton fire remained on scene for several hours searching for hot spots.
The fire did not spread to any neighbouring homes. Damage is estimated at roughly $150,000.
Crews are in the process of completing overhaul and searching for hot spots. Fire units being released. One occupant of the house has been transported by @HPS_Paramedics to hospital with smoke inhalation.
