Stolen car used in Toronto bus stop shootings found in Hamilton, suspect at large

Toronto police say the vehicle involved in the shooting that killed one person and injured another at the same intersection less than 24 hours apart was found in Hamilton as the suspect remains at large.
The two incidents happened back-to-back.
On Friday, a shooting at Jane Street and Driftwood Avenue in Toronto sent a person to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
In that incident, detectives say a 16-year-old boy was shot in the face while waiting for the bus.
The following day, another shooting occurred at the same exact location, injuring someone else. Only this time, the victim died.
While police have not ruled out the possibility that the two shootings were gang related, they say the two victims themselves hold no connections to gangs, nor do they have any connection to each other or the suspected shooter.
“Police believe the stolen vehicle involved in today’s shooting homicide was also involved in a shooting that occurred yesterday in the same area,” they wrote in an update following the second incident.

During a press conference on Tuesday, authorities said they had found the vehicle, a stolen black Acura RDX, in the area of Paramount Drive and Mud Street West on Hamilton’s East Mountain.
Investigators also released additional information identifying the victim and detailing the alleged shooter’s appearance.
Police say that Adu Boakeye, 39, of Ghana, was pronounced dead at a hospital on Saturday.
A photo of the suspect is being circulated by authorities. They say he remains at large.
He’s described as a black 18 to 25-year-old male with a thin build. He was last seen wearing a black coat, a white hoodie, black pants, black shoes, a black face covering and possibly a white surgical mask.
Hamilton police say they are not involved in the investigation, but there is a possibility that the suspect is in Hamilton.
As the investigation continues, Toronto police say residents can expect a larger police presence in the north-western neighbourhood.
