Stintz to run for Toronto mayor

Toronto city councillor and TTC chair Karen Stintz says she will run for mayor next year.

There was already speculation that Stintz would run against Rob Ford in the next election. Reports say that she has already started assembling a campaign team.

Ford hand-picked Stintz to be the TTC chair in 2010, but the two have argued over many transit issues since. They did, however, recently agree to extend subway services to Scarborough.
