Stephen McGee profile

Stephen McGee a 6’3”, 218lb Texan becomes the 5th quarterback to join the Tiger-Cats roster this season. Recently released by the Houston Texans, McGee admits he doesn’t know a heck of a lot about the Canadian game.
Stephen McGee didn’t know that there were 110 yards on a Canadian football field, or that there are twelve players, unlike the eleven he’s used to.
“I don’t think i’ve ever played a game colder than 32 degrees, which is farenheit not celsius, which is another adjustment for me,” he says.
But McGee is here for a reason. During his 4 years in Texas, he threw for almost 55-hundred yards and 28 touchdowns, and rushed for another 22-hundred yards and 11 touchdowns, making McGee what some would consider a double-threat.
He was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys, but over two seasons he only played three games.
He spent training camp this year with the Houston Texans, and was released last month.
“That opportunity, that door kind of shut and the league moves pretty quickly, rotating in the next group of guys.”
After spending his entire amateur and professional career in the state of Texas, McGee has traveled north gunning for a job.
While he may have a million questions about Canadian football, the biggest question the Ticats are facing is whether or not they have room to carry five quarterbacks on their roster.
