SteelTown Stair Climb

The fourth annual SteelTown Stair Climb was held in Hamilton today to raise money for lung health research.
Close to 200 people conquered the steps at 100 King St. W. Many of the participants were students training to be firefighters, who ran the 25 flights of stairs in full gear.
Another one of the climbers was 94-year-old Walter Decker. This is the third year he has taken part in the annual stair climb. He finished the climb in 10 minutes flat, shaving a whole three minutes off of his time from last year.
“My message to everybody is to get out there,” said Decker. “Keep fit. Get those lungs flexible.”
All of the funds go towards The Lung Association. Organizers say more than $30,000 was raised.
