A stay-at-home order lifts for 27 Ontario public health units today.

The units will now return to the province’s COVID-19 colour-coded tiered ranking system used prior to a province-wide lockdown which began on Boxing Day.

Hamilton and Halton will be moving into red level restrictions.

Brant and Haldimand Norfolk will be in the orange level.

“I want to take the opportunity to remind community members to remain vigilant against the spread of the virus,” said Haldimand-Norfolk’s Medical Officer of Health Dr. Shanker Nesathurai in a statement.

“As Medical Officer of Health, the best advice I can give is to stay at home as much as possible, wear a mask when you must go out, avoid close contact with anyone you don’t live with and wash your hands frequently.”

Niagara Region will be the only region in the grey-lockdown zone, which allows businesses to open at 25 per cent capacity.

Toronto, Peel Region, York Region and North Bay Parry Sound are set to remain under the stay-at-home order until at least Feb. 22.

Hastings Prince Edward, Kingston, Frontenac and Lennox and Addington and Renfrew County returned to the green zone of the framework last week.
