State of Emergency over Wildfires in British Columbia

A state of emergency has been declared in British Columbia because of wildfires in parts of the province. Flames have forced thousands from their homes as fire-fighting teams scramble to keep up with the situation.
The B.C. wildfire service says over 173 fires were reported on Friday alone as lightning storms rolled over several parts of the province. Currently there are 183 fires burning.
More than 1000 fire fighters are working around the clock with support from heavy equipment and helicopters.
