It may have been months since the NHL playoffs, but the Stanley Cup generates excitement wherever it goes.

This morning the cup stopped at Benedict’s Diner in Welland to the delight of dozens of hockey fans, anxious to take their pictures with it. It was brought to town by Chicago Blackhawks assistant coach Jamie Kompon.

The Stanley Cup will also make stops at Shaver Hospital in St Catharines and the Americana Hotel in Niagara Falls this afternoon.
