St. Thomas More student dies in hit-and-run on Hamilton Mountain: police

Hamilton police say a 15-year-old student has died following a hit-and-run on the west Mountain on Wednesday afternoon.
Officers responded to Upper Paradise and Stone Church roads around 3 p.m. for reports of a crash.
In a news conference, Const. Krista-Lee Ernst said another 15-year-old student driving northbound on Upper Paradise Rd. struck the boy.
Paramedics transported him to hospital in critical condition, where he later died of his injuries.

Ernst confirmed that both teens are students at St. Thomas More Catholic Secondary School.
Police have arrested and charged a 15-year-old boy with failing to remain, causing death.
Upper Paradise between Stone Church and Skyview Dr. is closed as police investigate.
