St. Joe’s, home care workers settle

Two-hundred part-time workers, were facing a lockout at midnight if they did not accept a $3 an hour pay cut, which would have lowered their hourly wages to $14.
Both sides reached a tentative agreement, ensuring no disruption in services.
The tentative agreement, if ratified, means there will be no strike at First Place Hamilton, Gwen Lee Supportive Housing, 226 Rebecca Street, Wellington Terrace in Burlington, or St. Joseph’s Hospital.
