St. Catharines’ Pen Centre closed Thursday as police investigate robbery

The Pen Centre in St. Catharines is closed for the rest of Thursday following a robbery at a jewelry store.
Niagara police posted on X shortly after 2 p.m. saying that people were being evacuated from the shopping mall.
Shocking video obtained by CHCH News appears to show five masked suspects smashing the glass displays at Griffin Jewellery Designs and fleeing the scene with bags.
A spokesperson for The Pen Centre posted on Facebook just before 3 p.m. saying that the shopping mall will be closed for the remainder of Thursday. However, they say the Walmart, Zehrs, HomeSense and restaurants will remain open through their outside access.
