A 52 year old man is dead after a motorcycle crash this morning in St Catharines.

Police say the man was driving south on Fifth St Louth when he lost control, and was thrown off, hitting his head. He was coming from St Catharines and on his way home to Pelham.

Someone driving by spotted the motorcycle at the side of the road. The driver and passengers got out, moved the bike away and tried to help.

Paramedics were called but were unable to revive him. He was pronounced dead on the street.

Police don’t know why he swerved off the rural road; they say speed could be a factor.
