St. Catharines firefighters pay it forward

St. Catharines firefighters are donating Tim Hortons gift cards to Community Care.
According to a media release from the city, Tim Hortons gave 150 $10.00 gift cards to the first responders working on Canada Day Instead of spending the money, the firefighters donated the gift cards to Community Care of St. Catharines and Thorold, a support service helping residents meet their basic needs including food, shelter and emergency services.
Fire Chief Dave Wood was on hand to present the gift cards and says “we are so fortunate to be part of such a wonderful community. Everyone was on board when it was suggested we give these back to the community we proudly serve.”
Betty-Lou Souter, the CEO of Community Care, says she’s grateful for the contribution made by the first responders, “Thanks to the St. Catharines firefighters, we have these gift cards to give out to the residents we serve. It’s kindness like this that helps us make a difference in our community.”
