The remains of an estimated 10 people have been discovered in what’s believed to be an overlooked Catholic cemetery.

Workers discovered the remains between James Street and Lyman Streets while doing construction but the work has now been halted.

The first discovery happened on April 16th when a worker was digging by a wall next to a parking lot owned by the Cathedral of St. Catharines of Alexandria.

That’s when the Niagara Branch of Ontario Geneological Society got involved.
