St. Catharines aggravated assault investigation
On April 20th, just after 1pm, the Niagara Regional Police Service along with Niagara – Emergency Medical Services were called to a disturbance call at Carter’s Sports Bar located at 466 Merritt Street in St. Catharines.
Officers were directed to a 22 year-old male who appeared to be in obvious distress.
An investigation revealed that there had been a physical altercation between several patrons after which the victim was stabbed in the upper torso.
The victim was first transported to Niagara Health Systems in St. Catharines but later transferred to the Hamilton General Hospital by air ambulance with what were believed to be life threatening injuries.
The victim has since been listed in stable condition and is expected to make a full recovery
The Niagara Regional Police is asking if anyone has any information to contact them of Crime Stoppers.
