History will be made on the pitch at Tim Hortons Field Wednesday night as Forge FC will become the first Canadian Premier League Team to compete in the CONCACAF Champions League as they host the Mexican club Cruz Azul.

To get you set for the game, we welcomed Forge FC captain, Kyle Bekker.

He says it is a big deal to be playing in the CONCACAF Champions League.

“You’re testing yourself against the best teams across North America and Central America,” said Bekker. “For a little bit of context, Cruz Azul have been around 94 or 96 years, they have more championship trophies than we’ve had years of existence, so it’s a massive test to go up against a club like them-”
