Sporting events cancelled or postponed due to the coronavirus

The NHL has suspended the 2019-20 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic following the NBA’s lead.

NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman announced the pause of the season amid concerns about the new coronavirus. The NHL has not said any player has tested positive for COVID-19.

MLB has postponed the start of the regular season by at least two weeks and cancelled the rest of spring training.

Major League Soccer has suspended its season for 30 days.

The world women’s curling championship in Prince George, B.C. has been cancelled.

The world figure-skating championship scheduled to run March 18- 22 in Montreal has been cancelled.

The CFL has cancelled all combines, March 13 in Montreal, March 20 in Edmonton and March 26-28 in Toronto.

The NCAA has cancelled the men’s and women’s basketball tournaments.

NASCAR will race the next two weekends without fans. The events at Atlanta Motor Speedway and Homestead-Miami Speedway will be restricted to competitors, crews, officials and other necessary personnel to conduct the race.

PGA will also carry on without spectators for the next month.
