Speers Road in Oakville reopens after garbage truck catches fire

A portion of Speers Road in Oakville closed for several hours Monday morning following a garbage truck catching on fire.

In a post on X shortly after 7 a.m., Halton police say Speers Road closed in both directions from Bronte Road to Third Line.

Halton police say they received a call at around 6 a.m. of a garbage truck being on fire in the eastbound lane of Speers Road.

All lanes of Speers Road from Bronte Road to Third Line have reopened as of 10 a.m.
