Hamilton Police say speed is a factor in a serious crash on the Hamilton Mountain.

A motorcycle collided with a vehicle on Mohawk Road near Upper Gage around 11:30 this morning.

The 19 year-old motorcyclist was taken to hospital with serious injuries. He is now in stable condition.

The Collision Reconstruction Team is investigating and police say charges are pending.
