Special Mass at Bishop Tonnos

Hamilton’s Bishop Tonnos Catholic Secondary School held a special Thanksgiving Mass Wednesday. It’s focus centred on a student who spent two weeks in a coma last February.

Sandra Koomore’see was 17-years old when a congenital condition caused her to collapse at her aunt’s house. At the time, her mother was in Ghana, so students and staff banded together to raise $2,000 to bring the family together. Sandra is apparently feeling much better, and joined her school for the celebration.

The school’s principal says he wanted to take the time this Thanksgiving to celebrate the compassion shown by his community. The school gathered outside for a picture to mark the special occasion.
